Nigeria Takes Delivery Of Last Dozens Of Train Coaches

The last dozen of train coaches ordered by the Federal Government have arrived the country and would be installed to improved rail transportation system in Nigeria.
BIGPEN understands that Nigeria took delivery of the last dozens of the train coaches that were ordered in March on Monday and have moved them to Nigerian train base in Papalanto, Ogun state, from where they will be used on the Lagos-Ibadan railway when operations begin.
“Similarly, when the Abeokuta Train Terminal which is 80% completed and awaiting finishing touches is commissioned, commuters would be able to work in Lagos and get home to Abeokuta with ease”, an official said.
Recalls that Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, had sometimes ago announced that the Nigerian Railway Corporation would take delivery of more coaches out of the 64 that Nigeria was expecting from Chinese Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) Tangshan Company Ltd.
