Buhari Seeks Senate Confirmation Of 42 Career Diplomats

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday forwarded 42 names of career diplomats to the Senate for confirmation in accordance with constitutional provisions.

BIGPEN reports that career diplomats, are mainly civil servants sourced through under of seniority ranking from Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in opposition to political appointees picked from any background.

Buhari, on Tuesday through a letter addressed to the President of Senate, Ahmad Lawan, and read at plenary, asked the Senate to confirm the 42 nominees as career ambassadors to Nigerian foreign missions.

Below is the full list of 42 nominees contained in the letter:
