Buhari Prays For Quick Recovery Of Ailing Emir Of Daura Whose Palace Was Shut For Fear Of COVID-19

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday sent his goodwill and prayers to the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar after he was admitted to the Federal Medical Centre, Katsina State.
President Buhari, who holds the traditional title of “Bayajidda” Daura, his hometown, said ”he received the news of the Emir’s sudden illness with concern and expressed best wishes for the speedy recovery of the monarch.”
“I join the Daura Emirate and the entire people of Katsina State in praying for the recovery of our humble and dedicated Emir, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar,” the President said.
Garba Shehu, President Buhari spokesman in a statement expressed the President satisfaction with the reported progress and recovery of the Emir since his hospitalization.
BIGPEN recalls that Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, had on Tuesday shut down the palace of the Emir of Daura after some COVID-19 cases were recorded from the palace.
The governor who disclosed this while giving update on the COVID-19 situation in the state on Tuesday, said that a samples of 89 people had been taken from the palace for screening by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
He said that there was no ulterior motive to the decision to quarantine the palace, adding “palace is a place where people visit all the time, we take this decision to contain spread of Coronavirus”.
