The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Interim Management Committee’s Executive Director of Projects (EDP), Dr. Cairo Ojougboh has dissociated himself from diatribe against personality of Ken Okolugbo over his comments on Channels TV on the activities of the NDDC.

A group which styled itself as Association of Ndokwa Youths, in a statement signed by one Martin’s Adibeli, had alleged Okologbo was involved in certificate and corruption scandal in his days at DESOPADEC as such has no moral justification to attack NDDC activities in a national TV programme.

Ojougboh, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Gabriel Choba, warned groups going personal with Okolugbo over his allegations against NDDC to desist forthwith, adding that he will never support attack against personalities.

The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to a personal attack on Ken Okolugbo over his statements made recently during a media chat in Channels TV on the affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). We wish to state that It is not in our character to engage in such activity.

“We wish to state unequivocally that we are not party to such attacks on Ken Okolugbo because we are serious minded people working to speedily transform the Niger Delta region through the NDDC which has been in stagnancy over the years. We are not party to the attack on Okolugbo and our political family is not party to it.

“We thereby condemn the personal attack on Ken Okolugbo; and we wish to state that politics should not become war because everybody has his right to have his say. And that is why, I, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh is against a personal attack on anybody. Therefore people should desist from such attack because nobody knows what is in stock tomorrow for anybody.

“We hereby warn that anybody who wants to create an impression that the personal attack is coming from us should desist from it because we know nothing about it. We dissociate ourselves from it. We know nothing about it and whatsoever group going personal, should please desist forthwith because we do not support it and we will never be party to it”, the statement warned.
