Gov. Diri Hits The Ground Running, Appoints SSG, Chief Of Staff, Others

The newly sworn in Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Thursday, approved the appointment of four principal officers for his administration.

The governor was declared authentic winner of the 2019 governorship election following Supreme Court nullification of David Lyon’s election as governor-elect on February 14.

He was subsequently sworn-in after INEC presented him with certificate of return same day.

In a statement by his Acting Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, who was earlier appointed, the appointments are with immediate effect.

Other new appointees include a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Konbowei Benson, who will serve as Secretary to the State Government.

Chief Benson Agadaga as Chief of Staff, Hon. Peter Pereotubo Akpe as Deputy Chief of Staff while Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo will serve as Principal Secretary.
