Delta Govt Seals Fed. Secretariat, JAMB Office, Others For Flouting Environmental Laws In Asaba

The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, on Tuesday, in continuation of the enforcement of environmental laws, has sealed the premises of some federal and state government offices, businesses and property along Okpanam Road, Asaba, the state capital.
The offices of Delta State Urban Water Board, JAMB as well as the Federal Secretariat are among the over a dozen premises shut down by operatives of DSCTDA in the state capital.
The enforcement team led by the Director General of the Agency, Hon. Mrs. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor, a member of the Agency’s board, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka and other officials of the Agency, started from Inter Bau to the U-turn around Midwifery Market, Okpanam.
The DG, advised residents to tidy up their premises and relocate their businesses from government setback.
She added that the Agency is not targeting the poor or the elite but unkempt premises and that contrary to speculations, its task force has not demolished any structure but shanties and illegal attachments.
