Sympathizes Protest As EFCC Arrest 11 Suspected Fraudsters In Sapele

There was a mild protest in Sapele, Delta state on Saturday as operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office, arrested 11 suspected internet fraudsters in the metropolis.

The suspects were smoke out of their hideout in an early morning raid in Sapele, Delta State.

The EFCC operatives swooped on the suspects following intelligence on their activities.

However, source disclosed that a mild protest by their sympathizes later broke out several hours after the EFCC team had left the city.

The anti-corruption agency, in a statement mentioned the arrested suspects as: Omomua Victor, Demi Johnson, Agufure Godstime, Agboroko Precious, Anthony Omonomo, Onskharoma Julius and Freeborn Efe. Others are Akama Precious, Tagbajiemi Promise George Raphael and Stanley Agabiri

Items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include a lap top computer, a Mercedes-Benz car, computers, mobile Phones, flash drives and internet modems.

The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon investigations are completed.
