RevolutionNow: Holding Sowore In Breach Of Constitution Will Spark The ‘Real Revolution’ – Group Warns FG

The group, Global Citizens Network (NCCGC), a pan-Nigeria non-violent social-political liberation movement worldwide, have warned the Federal Government against breaching the nation’s constitution, saying that holding citizen Omoyele Sowore beyond the 24 hours maximum timeline for charging suspects of any manner of breach or felony to court would spark the ‘real revolution’.

The group, in a statement by Evang. (Comrade) Tony Akeni Le Moin, Global Media Director, NCCGC on Tuesday, said that many Nigerians were becoming fed up with an unproductive, life obliterating governance failures of the Buhari administration, which many Nigerians, including some members of the movement stood in favour of in 2015, hence anything that could spark unrest should be avoided.

The statement read in full: “Global Citizens Network (NCCGC), a pan-Nigeria non-violent social-political liberation movement worldwide, hereby solemnly call on the Federal Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari to without further delay, in compliance with the Nigeria Constitution and appurtenant laws of the federation, release Citizen Omoyele Sowore and other protesters in solidarity with his cause from incarceration.

“More than all other citizens, President Muhammadu Buhari must lead the way in making Nigerians obey the laws of the land, in this case by complying with the 24 hours maximum timeline for charging suspects of any manner of breach or felony to court.

“Our movement condemns in totality the shameful, outdated, Gestapo style abduction and imprisonment without a trial schedule of Patriot Omoyele Sowore and his comrades of the August 5 peaceful advocacy protests across parts of the country.

“We further state that if the Federal Government has genuine conviction of its stand on the Sowore revolution project, it should test the validity of its conviction in constituted courts of the land by charging Sowore and his compatriots to court within 24 hours of arrest as stipulated by the laws of Nigeria.

“This is what responsible, constitution respecting democracies all over the world do in similar circumstances. The Nigeria government should not, in its own interest, be different, unless it is out to bequeath an undesirable legacy of its era to history books.

“We are, however, not surprised in the least that Nigeria’s APC led Federal Government still has in this 21st century this abhorrent and outmoded menu of response options to citizens’ exercise of their basic minimum right to disagree with an unproductive, life obliterating governance failures of the Buhari Administration, which many Nigerians, including some members of our movement once assiduously labored to persuade Nigeria’s electorates to elect into office in 2015.

“Arising from this most recent erosion of citizens’ rights, callous clampdown against civil rights in our country and the APC’s Brutus’ stab to the heart of our democratic civilization, we hereby call on Nigerians at home and all over the world to come to full realization of the dire straits our country is trapped in and which our movement, Nigeria Cannot Continue Like This‘ (NCCGC), has long come to.

“That neither the present misruling APC nor the preceding PDP of the traumatic political epoch before 2015 holds any redemption for the Nigerian people. Every freeborn fist, sinew and soul in this country who desire the best things that life can give to its peoples and wishes to hand over a respectable country to its posterity must therefore bunch together now to ensure the total obliteration, abolition and erasure of these two unconscionable associations of anarchists, lawbreakers, mayhemists, genocidal degenerates, treasury looters and corporate sadists from our history as a people well before the 2023 watershed elections a few years in front of our nose.

“Our movement, NCCGC, wishes to assure Nigerians that the enemies of the Nigerian people who are enjoying the pains of Nigerians in their various ivory towers of temporary comfort and indifference have not seen anything yet. The real rage of 200million strong, long repressed and pent-up Nigerians is coming. For two long decades, the APC and PDP vampire institutions have consigned Nigerians, citizens of an extremely endowed land, to marathon misery, chronic, deliberate, humiliating and dehumanizing poverty, and what the Nigerian government and its reactionary apostles are seeing today is just the tail of a waking behemoth. Such unnatural state of human life in bulk agony as we have in Nigeria cannot long endure.

“The real Revolution is coming. The best way for the Buhari-APC led present government may demonstrate these truths for itself is to lawlessly hold Sowore like another El-Zazaki in incarceration longer than the law dictates”.
