Omo-Agege Calls For Prayer For Success Of Buhari’s ‘Next-Level’ Agenda

The Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege on Thursday pleaded with APC members to pray fervently for the success of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government and all APC governors for the success of the ‘next level’ agenda of the administration.

BIGPEN Online reports that Omo-Agege who spoke during a reception in his honour at his country home, Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, stated that PDP governors does not deserve the success prayers because most of them does not believe in the next level agenda of APC-led government.

He said that some of those who does not believe in the progressive agenda of the government were the ones frustrating every moves of the APC-led government at the 8th Senate, stressing that the era where President Buhari was threatened with “impeachments” by the previous legislature is over.

According to him, with his emergence as Deputy Senate President and that of Sen. Ahmed Lawan, Senate President, there would be enabling environment for the success of the Buhari’s next level agenda in the entire country.

“Gone are those when impeachment threats will be issued to the President. But today we are having a house where you have the Senate President, Sen. Ahmed Lawan and myself combined, we will make Nigeria better with the supports of all Nigerians.”

Sen. Omo-Agege said he is occupying the position of Deputy Senate President because President Muhammadu Buhari made it possible for him.

According to Sen.Omo-Agege, “President Buhari put his foot down that I become the Deputy Senate President.”

While pointing out that President Buhari loves the Urhobo people and Deltans in particular, Sen. Omo-Agege informed the people that President Buhari has appointed a Deltan in the person of Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN as a minister to serve in his cabinet even though the odds leading to his emergence were enormous.

Omo-Agege urged Deltans to thank President Buhari for his emergence as Deputy Senate President serving with the most vibrant Sen. Ahmed Lawan as President of the Senate who is working positively to ensure that the next level agenda of the president comes to reality.

He also stated that the All Progressives Congress, APC Governors also supported his emergence as Deputy Senate President just as he thanked all of them for the support.

The Deputy President of the Senate however expressed optimism that the governorship candidate of the APC in the last general election, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru would succeed in the election tribunal and become governor of Delta State in the next six months.

He said he has hope in the election tribunal that it will deliver an unbias judgment and therefore urged party faithfuls to be patient and continue to give their supports to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
