JUST IN: Hoodlums Torch INEC Office In Akwa Ibom, Card Readers Burnt

Suspected political thugs on Friday morning set ablaze the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom, TheNewsGuru is reporting.

According to the report, the thugs who are suspected to be working for one of the strong politicians in the area made the move in a bid to force the postponement of the elections in the state.

The setting ablaze of the INEC office reportedly happened around 3:45 am.

Though the fire was put out by timely intervention, some card readers were burnt while other sensitive election materials were saved.
