Estranged Lawmaker, Ogor Apologizes To Isoko People In A Vague Video After He Goofed

…Leo’s Apology Video: An Insult To Injury – Onowakpo Campaign
Leo Ogor, an estranged federal lawmaker who is seeking a fifth term in the national assembly, in what appears like a desperate bid to appease Isoko people after insulting them earlier during a meeting, has released another video where he reportedly apologized.
BigPen Online reports that Ogor who has been jittery over the candidature of his main rival, Joel Onowakpo Thomas of the APC was seen in a barely clear video appeasing Isoko people after he made some divisive remarks about Isoko South which attracted wide condemnation.
Ogor, who represents Isoko Federal Constituency has been having speech impairment after he fell sick of stroke and had undergone psychotherapy abroad.
Meanwhile, the Joel Onowakpo Thomas Campaign Organisation in a statement by Obah Sylva has reacted to the video describing it as “an insult to injury”.
The statement obtained by BigPen Online reads in full: “We watched with greatest surprise the over edited apology video been circulated by the Media Aide to Hon Leo Ogor with the title “I won’t run for House of Representatives in 2023”, where he insisted that a wrong interpretation was given to the first video.
We are glad that with this statement Hon. Leo Ogor has confirmed that his media aides are bare-face Liars without any atom of integrity for calling the first video “Doctored”.
Initially, after reading the apology message as posted by his aides, we wanted to let the sleeping dog lie. But unfortunately we were greeted with an over edited video of the apology message, which we considered as insult to injury.
In the video, Hon. Leo Ogor lied again. Hear him:
“Jokingly I Said I Will Give The House Of Representative To Isoko South…”
We wish to emphatically state that, at no point did Hon. Leo said he will give the House of Representatives to Isoko South in the initial video. In the first video, Hon. Leo with pride stated as follows:
“Isoko north has two constituencies and Isoko South has two constituencies. if Isoko North has two constituencies and Isoko South has two constituencies, how can Isoko South come and take the Isoko North Constituency? that means they are taking three and this people are taking one’’.
The first video actually showed the true state of Leo’s mind as it relates to the House of Representative seat. He believes that because Isoko North has only one constituency they must hold on to the House of Representatives seat to balance the 2:2 equations. This is not the first time politicians are making verbal or even written agreements which they never keep.
While Hon. Leo has the right to hold meetings with the members of his party and can also decide to lie to them and call it apology, it is our duties to educate the Isoko people and expose these lies to enable them make the right decision on the 16th of February 2019.
The lack of sincerity on Hon. Leo’s part can be clearly seen from his face, gesticulation and mannerism.
Let us give Hon. Leo the evidence of doubt and even analyze his apology speech:
“Jokingly I said I will give the House of Representative to Isoko South…”
Jokingly? Are you serious? This simply means that whatever he said about giving the House of Rep seat to Isoko South (which is not true) was a mere joke and should not be taken seriously.
Wait a minute! Did Hon. Leo actually said he will give the House of Representative seat to Isoko south in 2023? What arrogance? When did the House of Representatives seat turns Leo’s ‘White House’ in Ozoro that he can give out at will? What an insult?
Hon. Leo Ogor boastfully said in the first video;
‘’Isoko North has two constituencies and in the sense of it, Isoko North has 13 wards and Isoko South has 11 Wards. How can they come and take 3 and we will take 1?”
He is right, Isoko North has 13 wards while Isoko South 11 wards. So naturally Isoko North will always have more delegates than Isoko South in PDP primaries. Therefore, they can always have their way in primaries. The good news is that, general elections don’t listen to dichotomy of South and North. Isoko people are ready to vote for credible candidate.
We have confirmed from so many PDP leaders, that Hon. Leo has been making these statements for over a decade now. Thank God for smart phones that can now record real time events and conversations.
To PDP leaders, this is your chance to end the born to rule arrogance of Hon. Leo Ogor. They must form a formidable alliance against Leo either publicly or privately. They must ensure that 2019 House of Representatives elections should go for equity, rotation of power and inclusive governance. It is a rare privilege that must not slip off our fingers.
The first video has been transcripted verbatim and we have read through it and watched the video repeatedly. We are yet to see how a clear message delivered by Hon. Leo can be said to be misinterpreted.
The response from leaders of PDP Isoko South and the facial expression of party’s leaders present at the meeting tell the whole story.
We appreciate the chairman of Isoko South PDP Campaign council for standing up to the challenge to question the ugly development and summoning him for questioning and explanation. However, much more is needed to right the wrong and change the narratives, through active support for Joel-Onowakpo Thomas. This is not about party politics but a bid to rescue the very soul of Isoko Nation .
We will continue to condemn the divisive and acrimonious tendencies of Hon. Leo Ogor and appeal for a united Isoko Nation geared toward his removal”.
