EXPOSED! NNPC ‘Pays’ Channels TV N19 Billion To Promote Buhari

Published

on

There are indications that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) party paid owner of Channels TV, John Momoh a whopping N19 billion naira to fan the interest of President Muhammad Buhari since 2015.

Although details of the said transactions are scanty at the time of publication, if this claim happens to be authentic, it would undoubtedly shadow the intergrity of the administration that has paraded itself as an emissary of corruption purge in Nigeria.

Also, It would affirm the claims that Nigeria is more corrupt under this administration than under the PDP administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Recalls that in his book titled “My Transition Hours,” launched Tuesday, November 20, the immediate former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, alleged that statistically speaking, Nigeria is more ridden with corruption during this dispensation than under his administration.

Excerpt of the book reads: “It is important to note that despite the many sensational stories, dramatic arrests, seizures and accusations, many of them false, since I left office, the fact remains that Nigeria has not made any improvement on Transparency International Corruption Perception Index since 2014.

“In fact, the 2017 CPI released in 2018 by TI places Nigeria as number 148, a retrogression in which the nation went 12 place backward. In other words, Nigeria is more corrupt in 2017 than it was when I handed over to Buhari administration in 2015″.

But in a quick reaction, presidency fired back at the former president calling into question his claims.

Meanwhile, LeadersNG tweeted today, alleging as follows:

BREAKING: NNPC source close to the GMD, Maikanti Baru says the corporation has given Mr. John Momoh, CEO of @channelstv over N19billion to promote president @MBuhari since 2015 and block negative reportage against the government.
