Delta Online Publishers To Induct Alaibe Into Niger Delta Media Hall Of Fame

The Delta Online Publishers Forum, (DOPF) has announced the induction of former Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Ndutimi Alaibe into its new Niger Delta Media Hall of Fame for his contributions to peace and development of the region.

The induction would take place during the 2018 Convention and annual lecture series of the association holding this week in Asaba.

A statement by the organising committee Chairman, Mr. Shedrack Onitsha, and the Secretary, Mr. Miracle Enuji, obtained by BigPen Online on Sunday, also named Mr. Patrick Ukah, Delta State Commissioner of Information, Engr. Dr. Adjogbe Ajenakevwe, executive Director Project, NDDC, Barr. Malachy Ugunmmadu, Barr. Maxwell Omemiroro Ogedegbe, Chief Felix Anirah, Chief Monday Itoghor, Hon Engr. Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi, and Mr. Tony Erewa as award recipients.

The event which would hold on November 7, 2018 at David’s Event centre, Temple Clinic Junction Asaba, the Delta State capital, will begin on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 with a seminar on Business Management and Customer Care, and Online Optimization for Online Media Practitioners, from a highly rated business coach and Google certified trainer from Google Nigeria.

The statement further said that there would be annual lecture with a theme, “The Role of Online News Media in 2019 Elections: Managing Fake News” to be delivered by a professor in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, who is also a consultant to an arm of the United Nation on media matters.

The lecture would be followed by Panelists
discussion drawn from the security, legal and electoral body that would proffer way to tackle issue of fake news, as the country approaches the 2019 general election.

According to the statement, the occasion which will be chaired by former commissioner and Attorney General of the state, Chief Victor Otomiewo, will unveil the forums award platform, the Niger Delta Media Hall of Fame/Award project, which will have some eminent Nigerians conferred recognition, based on their contribution on the society.

The event which is expected to attract Nigerians from all works of live, including the media, security, civil society organisations, would also saw the enlistment of new online news organisation into the forum.
