Backlash Trails WAEC Certificate Released To Buhari, On Twitter
There is serious mixed reactions from Nigerians on Twitter over the reported attestation certificate and confirmation of school certificate result released by West African Examination Council (WAEC) to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Different twitter users had swooped on the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, who on his Twitter handle, @FemAdesina, on Friday wrote: “WAEC presents attestation certificate and confirmation of school cert result to President Buhari. What will the naysayers say next?”
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Registrar of the Council, Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, made the presentation at the President’s mini conference hall at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Uwadiae, who was accompanied by senior staff of the council, performed the ceremony during a courtesy visit to the State House.
The presentation was witnessed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha; Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu; and other presidential aides.
There has been controversy by the opposition parties over Buhari’s academic credentials.
The President was reported to have informed the Independent National Electoral Commission that his credentials were in possession of the military board.
Buhari’s position had, however, continued to trigger some comments from political observers.
The Peoples Democratic Party had, on October 26, challenged Buhari to show proof of his integrity by presenting his academic credentials “if he has any,” to the INEC.
Meanwhile, the news have got twitter buzzing as Nigerians react, describing the result as fake.
Femi that's a big fraud. Buhari is using his power to acquire WAEC result illegally. Why didn't he get it in 2015?

Some will say fake while many others will say it's impossible! Instead of asking for a copy of the attestation for verification. Who will safe this generation? My people perish for lack of knowledge!

Listen to yourself please. In the same country where we have recorded thousands of fake WAEC results. You think A president getting one will be a big deal? Oh. Please say something else. pic.twitter.com/RuXx8fjSPk
