Delta APC Describes PDP “Celebrated APC Defectors” As Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish

The Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described its former party members who defected to the ruling People Democratic Party (PDP) as good riddance to bad rubbish.

The party said that the few persons who left the party on Tuesday at the PDP Delta North Mega rally were not adding values to APC, hence their defection would not affect the party’s desire to win all elections in 2019.

State Publicity Secretary of the party, Barr. Ogheneluemu Sylvester Imonina in a statement in reaction to the defection,  obtained by BigPen Online, said one of the defectors, Henry Onianwa who claimed to be a Delta North Chairman of the group,  Mainstream Delta APC (MDA), was no longer a member of the party, thus his said defection is a charade.

The statement which was authorized by a faction of the party led by Prophet Jones Erue State Working Committee (SWC), said that it was an infinitesimal group of people, led by one Mr. Henry Onianwa that defected.

The statement read: “Today, being the 23rd of October, 2018, an infinitesimal group of people, led by one Mr. Henry Onianwa, a Delta North Chairman of Mainstream Delta APC (MDA), a proscribed pressure group in APC Delta State, formed by Chief Otega Emerhor, an expelled member of the Party, defected to PDP at Kwale.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Mr. Henry Onianwa was never the Chairman of APC in Delta North. The legally recognized Chairman of APC in Delta North is Chief George Okafor. From available information to the Party, Mr. Henry Onianwa and his co-travelers who defected to PDP today, did same without committed members of the party defecting with them. In fact, the few persons who left were not adding values to the Party and APC, Delta State sees their defection as good riddance to bad rubbish!

“To all genuine APC members in Delta State, be rest assured that the SWC, led by the Chairman of the Party, Prophet Jones Ode Erue is genuinely working towards assuaging the feelings of anybody or group of persons within the Party who could have been offended one way or the other. Therefore, Party members should exercise some patience, as the ongoing reconciliation moves would meet the desire of the majority of Party faithful.”

BigPen Online reports that among those who left the APC for PDP, according to a Delta State Government House Press Unit, were former member of House of Representatives, Hon. Mercy Almona-Isei, former running mate to Olorogun Otega Emerhor, the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate in 2015 general elections, Chief V.O.T. Abanum, Chief Gabriel Mordi, Chief Emma Ogude, Hon. Henry Onianwa, and other leaders of different political parties as well as thousands of their supporters.
