Two Armed Robbery Suspects Die After Exchanging Bullets Wiith Police In Delta
Two suspected armed robbers have been reported dead as member of their gang escaped with severe injury after exchanging gun fire with men of the Nigeria Police Force “A” Division on Saturday September 29.
The incident occurred at about 10:am at Old Welfare Street near Igbudu Market in Warri, Delta State.
The suspects died on Sunday morning at an undisclosed hospital as a result of gun shot wounds sustained as a result of the fire power of the Police.
BigPen Online understands that the deceased suspects and their fleeing member were intercepted after they dispossed one Mr. Uche of his tricycle along Warri main garage which they used for their Criminal activities.
Mr. Uche however learnt quickly alerted the Police who were on routine patrol, our source said, adding that the Police trailed them but they engaged the Police in a serious shootout in the area.
Meanwhile, during the exchange of gun fire the deceased suspects sustained serious injuries and while one of them also escaped with gun shot wounds.
The Police also recovered a bag containing an unspecified amount of money inside the tricycle they used for their robber Operation.
When contacted, the Delta State Commissioner for Police,CP Muhammad Mustafa only confirmed that two armed robbery suspects were arrested in the process of robbing one.Mr. Uche.
According to CP Mustafa, “They used tricycle popularly called (Keke Napep) for the operation, and they were intercepted by the Police. But they are seriously injured and corrently are in the hospital.”
