MAKING A CASE FOR A RENEGOTIATED NIGERIA, BY CHIMENNMA OKOLO

When we say restructure Nigeria we are pushing for a system that will help restructure our economy to be sustainable!
Take for example the deliberate neglect  of other viable ports for Lagos port and the destructive force such demonic policy continually unleashes! Now Lagos is crying and over populated! They are no longer comfortable despite the money they make from such shambolic policy!
Is it not a shame that a country like Nigeria has only ONE sea port! Are we not aware of the economy strangulation such a myopic and insane economic policy has brought to us?
We must restructure our sea ports across Nigeria: Warri /Koko ports in Delta,  Port Harcourt Ports, Gelegele Port in Edo state etc!
The functionality of these ports will help create massive jobs across boards and also drive revenue generations, reduce the carnage on our roads! This is not rocket science!
Restructuring isn’t about crude oil, it’s about the survival of this nation if we want this nation to survive that is! And we all benefit!
Before we embarked on this self destructive journey of unitary federalism, the North was buoyant enough to embark on building infrastructure from the proceeds of their groundnut pyramids e. g. Ahmadu Bello University, the South West also used cocoa proceeds to build lots of infrastructure and even gave out free education, Obafemi Awolowo University, Cocoa House, Western Nigeria Tv etc stands as testament, the South East built great infrastructure like the University of Nigeria through the revenue from Palm produce, and the Midwest had it’s survival hinged on its rubber produce!
None of these regions rushed to Lagos (seat of the federal government) to build it’s infrastructure! Healthy rivalry reigned and the ports functioned for exports!
We must restructure Nigeria or soon we burst!
We must renegotiate Nigeria!
