BREAKING: Governor Ortom May Be ‘Impeached’ By Eight Benue Assembly Members

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state may be ‘impeached’ by eight lawmakers who were allowed access into the Assembly complex by the police early hours of Monday.
The Benue State Police Command had last week also stormed the Assembly, with lawmakers who are pro-Governor Ortom prevented from accessing the complex.
Reports say on Monday, the police again stormed the Assembly complex and blocked virtually all roads leading to the Assembly.
Vanguard reports that the lawmakers who signed the reported impeachment notice gained access to the state assembly complex while the police barricaded further access to the house, Ortom’s aide confirmed.
According to Ortom’s spokesman, Tahav Agerzua, the lawmakers took over the Assembly complex to sit and pass the impeachment notice while the police blocked further access.
Meanwhile, some pro-Ortom youths who had at the wee hour of the day stormed the Assembly complex after perceiving the looming impeachment were dispersed with teargas by a detachment of heavily armed policemen who later shutdown the Benue State House of Assembly.
Recall that Governor Ortom had given reasons as to why he dumped the APC to include that his people, the Benue state youths, had forced him to leave the party or cease to be their governor.
