Senator Melaye Refers To APC Convention As A Joke

Published

on

Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye has described the ongoing convention of the All Progressives Party (APC) as a “joke”.

Dino was elected on the platform of the ruling party, APC.

He handled most of the programmes of the party in different parts of the country in the buildup to the time of the last general election.

Melaye however expressed happiness in a post on instagram on Saturday saying “to be away from the joke going on in Naija today,”.

He also posted picture of himself at a train station in the UK

Meanwhile, Melaye has been having issues with the police. Two months ago, he was stopped from travelling through the Nnamdi Azikwe international airport, Abuja.

The police laid siege to his residence, forcing him to surrender after ignoring several invitations.

Also, while he was being taken to court in Lokoja, Kogi state capital, to face charges bordering on gun running, Melaye jumped out of a moving vehicle and landed in the hospital.

However, this did not stop the police from arraigning him for gun running and criminal conspiracy. The trial is ongoing.

Few weeks later, Senator Melaye created another scene when he returned to the senate after the battle . He had requested the senate president to allow him to sit with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers.

He has been reported as leaving APC and claimed the charges against him were politically motivated.
