2019: Senator Makarfi To Run For President

Senator Ahmed Makarfi, a former Governor of Kaduna State and former Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared his intention to run for president in 2019

He explained that he had consulted widely and has made conclusion that the time has come for him to run for the exalted position of Nigeria’s President.

Revealing this to Channels Television in Kaduna on Sunday, he further stated that, if elected in 2019, restructuring the country, tackling insecurity, fighting corruption with due process and rule of law, improving the economy, reuniting the nation are some of the things his administration will ensure for Nigeria.

Speaking on the chances of his party, Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) producing Nigeria’s next president, Makarfi noted, the crisis in the ruling APC, is a great advantage for his party to emerge victorious in the election.

However, he commended President Buhari’s administration’s fight against insurgency, but noting that the successes recorded would have been amazing if the institution of the government had worked collectively.
