Fire Guts Popular Warri Market Again

Fresh fire incident has been reported at the Ogbe-Ijoh market in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state.

The fire which broke out Friday night around 11: pm burnt over 100 stalls in the market which has notoriety for annual fire disasters.

Sources said that the fire started from an area of the market where smoked fish are being processed.

Over 500 stores where smoked fish are stored and processed got destroyed and goods worth million perished in an inferno which occurred early this week, Tuesday.

Similar fire outbreak had occurred in the market early this year with the state government being accused of doing nothing to replace the shanties with modern structures.

The cause of the inferno this time around could not be immediately ascertained as at press time.
