Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta Mandate on Monday adopted the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for a second term in office come 2019 even as the Governor has been commended for his giant infrastructural strides across the state.

The adoption was announced by the National President of the PDP Delta Mandate, Chief Isaac Anwuzia at a mega rally in Warri and hosted by the Delta South Senatorial district chapter of the body made up of all the key players in the Delta state government and PDP bigwigs from across the state.

Speaking to newsmen at the rally, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah said the Governor have performed so creditably well that he has even constructed roads in some major riverine oil bearing communities, a feat no other Governor before him ever achieved, saying that inspite of the dwindling resources at his disposal, Governor Okowa has been faithful, dedicated, build trust amongst the electorates and took development to the nooks and crannies of the state.

He said without doubt, Governor Okowa has proven that he can truly deliver the dividends of democracy without discrimination and charged Deltans to vote enmasse for him come 2019 as it was the only way for him to consolidate and complete all the projects so far embarked upon.

Chief host of the event, Chief Solomon Arenyeka in his brief comment said, “Okowa has been adopted by the entire people of the Senatorial district in line with the spirit and letter of the agreement reached that each Senatorial district must complete their two tenure in office as Governor”, saying that they are not prepared to breach the understanding and therefore charged all Deltans to ensure they get their voters cards by registering in the ongoing registration exercise.

A PDP woman leader in the state from Delta Central Senatorial district, Chief (Mrs) Tom Amioku on her part told the mammoth crowd categorically that the Urhobo nation should not bother to contest for the Governorship seat come 2019 as it was not their turn and admonish them to support Dr. Okowa ambition to return to the Government House in 2019.
