Security Agents Arrest Two Suspects, Woman Who Gave Assassins N200,000 To Kill Her Mate, Son In Delta

The Police in Delta state have arrested two suspects alongside a woman who sent assassins after paying them N200,000 to kill her mate and her son last year in Ayakoromo Community in Burutu LGA of Delta State.

National President, Foundation for Human Rights and Anti-corruption Crusaders (FOHURAC), Alaowei Cleric, (Esq), disclosed the arrest in a statement made available to BigPen Online on Saturday.

He said that two of the suspected assassins allegedly hired by the victim’s mate, one Ikechukwu Oguma and Seikemieghan Fullpower were apprehended by a combined team of Police, DSS and the Nigerian Army.

According to him, one of the suspect, Ikechukwu Oguma had confessed during interrogation that himself, Seikemieghan Fullpower and others now at large were contacted by the deceased’s mate who is from Enekorogha Community in Burutu LGA with the sum of N200,000 to assassinate her.

He recalled that the victim, Mrs. Anetorufa Morko and her son, Doutimi Eseimo were gruesomely murdered at Ayakoromo Community in Burutu LGA of Delta State by some unidentified assassins on the 3rd of July, 2017.

According to him, after the incident which he described as “horrendous” and unprecedented in Ayakoromo community, the police mounted surveillance on some of the suspected culprits, while they continued with investigation on the matter.

The human rights lawyer disclosed that months after, the two suspects were later arrested through a combine security effort while the woman who engaged their services was also arrested.

The anti corruption group however commended the Nigeria Police force, particularly the Delta State Police command, the DSS and men of the JTF for taking proactive steps to unearthed the culprits behind the alleged gruesome murder of Anetorufa and her son.

“Now that the suspects are in the Police net, we suggest that they should be brought to book according to the laws of the land.

“We have special interest in the matter and we will ensure that whoever is culpable in the matter will not go scot free.

“We shall mount surveillance in the process to ensure that justice is done in the matter. We will synergize with all relevant authorities for the prosecution of the case including securing legal services for the bereaved family.

“Our primary concern is that let justice be done in the case to serve as a deterrence to others”, the statement added.
