BREAKING! EFCC’s Arrests Ex-SGF, Babachir Lawal

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), has arrested and detained the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, for alleged fraud to the tune of N223m.

Mr. Lawal is detained in the Abuja headquarters of the anti-graft agency where he will face investigators over his role in the controversial contracts, ALEDEH is reporting.

The former SGF was removed by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2017 following allegations that he diverted aid funds intended for the humanitarian crisis in North-east Nigeria.
