The committee which expressed disappointment over the execution of the projects by the contractor after receiving total sum of N3.1 Billion in payments, said it is obvious that the company lack the capacity to do road works as all the roads they have constructed in the Asaba axis have all failed within a period of one year, since 2014.

Speaking at the inspection tour over the weekend, Hon. Ivwurie posited that Deux Project Limited has carried on their road projects business in Deltan State with impunity to the detriments of Deltans and the State Government by undermining the State contract policies by virtue of the substandard works done and their non-performance.

The lawmaker, also said that the quality of roads constructed by Deux which “we have all seen today is unacceptable to any reasonable government, Deltans and the House of Assembly. We cannot continue to tolerate this level of impunity and substandard delivery of roads network.

“Given the huge financial resources and priority the State Government has invested in road infrastructure in the Asaba metropolis to sustain the momentum of the government’s drive for accelerated development of Asaba capital territory, and the network of rural and urban roads across the State geared towards overall development of the State, it becomes so obvious after today’s inspection that Deux Projects Ltd is in the league of the recalcitrant and dissident contractors bent on sabotaging the efforts and commitments of the State Government to holistic infrastructural development of Delta State and the Committee must estoppel all such saboteurs”.

Hon. Ivwurie used this opportunity to emphasize the State Government commitment to the goal of achieving quality, standard and effective service delivery expeditiously for which reason the Governor of Delta State Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyichukwu Okowa has indeed funded the Ministry of Works more than adequately in spite of the biting economic recession.

He also assured that Speaker Sheriff Oborevwori and all the members of the Delta State House of Assembly are committed to ensuring that Deltans get full value for their money.

“I must thank Governor Okowa for choosing to be pro-development and pro-people despite the bitting economic recession and I must appreciate Speaker Oborevwori for his leadership and support for this committee”, Hon Ivwurie said.
