Femi Kayode Hails Okowa On Civil Society Engagement Policy

Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode has commended Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, over his civil society engagements policy.
According to him, Governor Okowa has been an uncommon champion of civil society development as well as citizen’s participation in governance.
He made this assertions when Special Assistant to the Governor on Civil Society, Activist Rex Ekiugbo Anighoro met with him on Monday in Abuja.
Femi Fani Kayode, Hon. Samia Kwame Nkrumah, Barrister Ledum Mitee, Activist Ann Kio Briggs, Bishop FEB Idahosa among others are expected as lead speakers in the forthcoming Delta State International Civil Society Conference slated to hold on Thursday 14th December, 2017 at the Press Centre, Government House, Asaba.
Activist Rex Anighoro who disclosed this in a statement made available to BigPen Online, said Governor Okowa who he described as “foremost defender of citizens rights” is firmly committed to giving civil society its due dignified recognition and attention.
According to him, Okowa is poised to allow conscience of the society and critical citizen’s community engagement so long its promotes good governance, democracy, human rights, rule of law, social justice, leadership development, as well as peace building among others.
He said that the essence of the conference is to further strengthen government resolve to interface, engage and partner with civil society in the collective drive to build the Delta of our dreams.
While calling on all activists in Delta State to embrace the conference as it will help boost their leadership capacity building, Anighoro disclosed that civil society delegates are expected from across the country and in the Diaspora for the Conference.
