Governor Okowa Calls For Transparency Ahead Of Party National Convention

The Governor of Delta State, Senator, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has called for transparency of proceedings during the PDP national convention scheduled to hold on 9 December, 2017.
He stated this when one of the chairmanship aspirants of the party, Chief Bode George paid him a courtesy visit in Asaba today.
The governor said that the party needed to ensure that its national convention was conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner so as to move the party forward.
“We are a very organized political party, we believe that the process of choosing our officers at the national convention will be free, fair and transparent, everyone has to ensure that it is a fair process to move the party forward”.
The Governor commended Chief George for his patience and tenacity in campaigning all round the country and stated that this move would awaken PDP members and stabilize the party.
Chief Bode George had earlier said that he was in the state to solicit for support of party delegates for the forthcoming elections at the party national convention, stressing that the party needed to ensure a free, fair and transparent electoral process so as not to repeat the mistakes of the past.
