IPOB addresses Allegations, Says It’II Boycott, Not Disrupt Elections

As the November 18th gubernatorial elections in Anamabra draws closer, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been on the news for many negative reason.
Following this, the group has come out to refute the allegations that it plans to disrupt the forthcoming elections in the state.
In a statement signed by the group’s publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, it blasted the Ohaneze Ndigbo and INEC, accusing them of sponsoring campaign of calumy against the group.
IPOB says there is no truth to the reports alleging plans to disrupt the election.
“We wish to state for the purpose of clarity that we are boycotting the elections and we want to state that the unfounded allegations about IPOB intending to disrupt the polls as peddled by the Ohaneze Ndigbo and the Independent National Elecoral Commission (INEC) are not only baseless, but completely false…..
“We insist on total boycott of all elections because voting in Anambra and Nigeria is an exercise in futility since Aso Rock has decided who they want sworn in as Anambra Governor…
“We hereby warn all commercial vehicles to please stay away from Anambra state on the eve of the election because any vehicle seen will be regarded as hostile and working to subvert the will of the people……
“Therefore, we advise everybody to stay indoors and to desist from driving through the state from 5pm on Friday the 17th November to 6pm on Saturday the 18th, 2017.
