“Yes, I got information at about 18:00 hours this evening that Alhaji Hussaini Zanwa Akwanga has been released by his captors and he looks hale and hearty but whether a ransom was paid or not, I am not aware.

“However, it is an unfortunate incident, we on our part, the Nasarawa State Police Command will surely take action to ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are brought to book. As we did in other areas, we will surely also commence operations around that Akwanga area with the aim of routing them from those places, that we assure the good people of Nasarawa State.

“In the process of investigations and search and rescue, we made some arrests about five persons were arrested and they are undergoing interrogation,” he said.
