Buhari Is Very Conversant With All The Political Happening – Saraki

President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki who was at the Abuja House in London to see President Muhammadu Buhari alongside Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has revealed some of their discussions.

Before now, Saraki had led other Principal Officers of the National Assembly to visited Buhari during his first medical treatment in London.

It is now 100 days since President Buhari has left the country for the second medical treatment.

In a series of tweets posted in his Twitter Handle (@Bukolasaraki) on Thursday night, Saraki who said they had a fruitful discussion, confirmed the accounts of previous visitors on Mr. President’s quick recovery, saying that Buhari is also very conversant with political happenings back home in Nigeria.

He described the meeting between the trio as a meeting of substance where they discussed wide range of issues including how to move the country forward and the performance of 2017 budget.

Saraki said, “Mr. President exhibited remarkable recovery and was very conversant with all the political happenings back at home and across the continent. It was a meeting of substance where we discussed important matters of state. We also discussed the 2017 budget.

“In particular, we talked about the Virement request by the Presidency which is before the National Assembly. We then considered the steps to be taken in the preparation of the 2018 budget to ensure its early passage.

“We must give thanks to God for this highly welcomed recovery. It is clear that Mr. President’s insistence on following his doctors’ advice has yielded the desired results. I therefore confidently look forward to Mr. President’s imminent return home.”

President Buhari also conveys Nigeria’s sympathies to the people of Sierra Leone over the recent landslide which killed several persons and displaced hundreds of residents.

“International issues were also discussed and Mr. President informed us that he has conveyed his sympathies to the people of Sierra Leone”, the Senate President added.
