  Despite worsen security situation in oil rich Ugborodo community, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), has completed and inaugurated a N123 million naira ultra-modern town hall in the community. The inauguration of the gigantic edifice which was personally performed by Olu of Warri, HRM Ogiame Ikenwoli with fanfares, had closed a chapter over the crisis on the Olu overlordship of the troubled community. Shell’s MD Recommends Delta C’ttee Against Vandalism As A Model For Oil Producing States

    Managing Director, Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC), Limited, Mr Osagie Okunbor, has recommended the Delta state Government Advocacy Committee Against Vandalism of Oil and Gas Facilities chaired by Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro as a model for other oil producing states. Okunbor, gave this recommendation after he met with the state Deputy Governor in a closed-door meeting at the weekend where he described the initiative as a model for forging progressive relations between oil companies and oil-bearing communities. The ceasefire between Aladja/Ogbe-Ijoh communities may have collapsed as suspected armed Isaba youths sympathetic to Ogbe-Ijoh allegedly abducted a citizen of Aladja Community, Mr. Aron Shaka from his farm, BigPen Online can report. The Minister for Works, Road and Power, Raji Fashola has been petitioned over alleged N103.5 million estimated billing scam against the management of Benin Electricity Distribution Company Plc (BEDC). The petition which was written on behalf of Emevor community in Delta state by Deacon Patrick Emerhana, alleged that some officials of BEDC had scam the community with the total sum which they have been collecting for years without remittance. BEDC had since 28 December 2017, disconnected Emevor community from the national grid over claims that the community was owing N103.5 million which is now subject of controversy.
