Saraki, Dogara Not Present At The Independence Day Parade – First Time Since 2015

Senate President Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, were both absent at the Eagle Square, Abuja, during the 2018 Independence Day parade.
This is the first time that both men would miss the programme organised on an annual basis since 2015.
President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and Walter Onnoghen, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), all attended the event.
Yakubu Gowon, former head of state, was also in attendance.
Saraki and Dogara fell out with the government of Buhari and subsequently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
