BREAKING: Abducted Delta Monarch Regains Freedom
The traditional ruler of Ogodo, an agrarian community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta state, HRM Sunday Olisewokwu has been released by his captors.
Member of State House of Assembly representing Aniocha North, Engr. Emeka Nwaobi confirmed this Wednesday morning, saying the monarch was released Tuesday evening around Asaba and is presently in a private hospital for medical check up.
Nwaobi, and others who were on top of the matter ferried the Ogodo monarch to a private hospital in Asaba after he regained his freedom.
It is not clear if any monies exchanged hands before he was released but his abductors had earlier demanded fifteen million Naira for him to regain his freedom.
The monarch had contacted members of his family throughout the period he was in captivity, a source said, adding he appear to be in high spirits despite the ordeal he was passing through.
Recalls that two persons were injured when the kidnappers seized the monarch on Sunday on his way to his domain from Issele Mkpetime.
