2027: Isoko North LGA’s City Boys Movement Meet Ogorugba, Declares Support for Tinubu, Oborevwori’s Re-election Bid

The City Boys Movement, Isoko North Chapter under the leadership of its Director, Efenudu Orevaoghene, paid a courtesy call on the Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba on Thursday.

The group during the visit declared its support for the re-election of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and other candidates before the 2027 general elections.

The group also conferred the Chairman Ogorugba with the status of a patron of the City Boys Movement, Isoko North chapter.

Addressing the group, Ogorugba appreciated the leadership and members of the City Boys Movement for considering him worthy of the honor and for recognizing him as a Patron of the movement.

He said the appointment was a demonstration of the confidence the group had in his leadership and assured them that he would continue to encourage initiatives that promote unity, peaceful political participation and meaningful grassroots mobilization.

“I want to thank the leadership and the entire membership of the City Boys Movement, Isoko North Chapter, for this honor and for considering me worthy to serve as a Patron of this great movement. I very much appreciate your visit and the confidence you have shown in my leadership. This appointment is not only an honor, but also a responsibility, and I accept it with humility, and a strong commitment to support the ideals of unity, peace, development and responsible political participation.”

“Much work remains to be done as we inch closer to the general elections of 2027. Political victory is not won by mere statement or attendance at meetings. It needs serious mobilization, good communication, unity of purpose and sustained engagement with our people at the grassroots level. With that in mind, I want to encourage every member of the City Boys Movement to keep their focus and commitment. Mobilize to the wards, to the units, to the communities, to the streets. Be spoken to our people. Listen to what they have to say. Talk to them about the importance of being involved in democracy.

We need a wide-based and inclusive mobilization. All young people, all community leaders, all women and all stakeholders have a role to play. “We need to work together in a respectful and peaceful way, because politics must be about service, development, and the common good of our people. “I would like to especially solicit of you not to be lax in your efforts to bring about victory and the desired result in Isoko North. The 6/6 objective has to be more than a slogan, it has to be backed up by real grassroots mobilization, organization and commitment.

But in the course of pursuing our political objectives, I want you to remain peaceful. “Let us not allow political differences to divide us as brothers and sisters. We may not share the same opinions and preferences, but our common interest as a people must always be put first. As political activities in the buildup to the 2027 elections pick up pace, I expect the City Boys Movement to differentiate itself through discipline, unity, peaceful mobilization and respect for all stakeholders. Let us take the message to the people and urge them to make good choices when the time comes.

‘I can promise you that as your Patron I will continue to encourage and support you as far as my duties allow. I commend your courage, your commitment, and your determination, and I encourage you to keep the momentum going. “Let us stay united, organized and peaceful. Let us continue to mobilize our people at the grassroots, and let us work together to achieve a laudable result for our party and candidates in the 2027 general elections.”

However, Ogorugba urged the members of the movement to remain united and disciplined, stressing that effective engagement at the grassroots would be key to securing a strong electoral performance in 2027.

But the council chairman urged them to do their mobilization activities in a peaceful and responsible manner especially as political activities gain momentum ahead of the elections.

The Chairman was accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Evelyn Aluta, the Leader of the Isoko North Legislative Arm, Pascal Akpo’r Emeluaha, the Majority Leader of the Isoko North Legislative Arm, Victor Oghounu, the Supervisor for Works, Egwu Oghenero Alakpodia, Special Adviser to the Chairman, Erero Jacob Oloku during the visit.
