German Embassy Raises Alarm, Warns Nigerians Against Visa Agents

The German Embassy in Nigeria has warned Nigerians against relying on information from so-called visa agents when seeking to apply for German visas.

The embassy issued the warning on Wednesday through its official X account, urging applicants to obtain accurate visa information directly from official sources.

“Beware of misinformation. Save yourself the hassle & just ask us directly,” the embassy stated.

The mission also invited Nigerians to share claims they had heard from visa agents, saying it would address some of the claims in upcoming posts.

The embassy stressed that it has no partnership with visa agents.

“We do not work with any ‘visa Agents’!” it stated.

According to the embassy, all relevant information on visa applications and procedures is freely available through its official website.

It urged Nigerians to verify visa-related claims through official channels to avoid unnecessary expenses, confusion and possible fraud.
