Revised NASS Primaries List Could Return APC to Its Troubled Past – Obun

Former Cross River Lawmaker and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cletus Obun has warned that imposing candidates who didn’t participate and won in the just concluded Primaries Election, could trigger another internal party Crisis.
This came immediately after the APC National committee released the final NASS result for the forthcoming general election in 2027.
Speaking on Arise Morning Show on Thursday morning, Obun said, “if any APC member seeks to sabotage the party through subterfuge by importing candidates, that individual will be treated as a saboteur”.
He stressed that what INEC is doing with the APC right now is sanitising the process. The APC cannot afford to repeat its mistakes.
According to him, if the party must take decision, the party can not take any decisions aside from the book, insisting that the party can’t afford to make one mistake twice except there is something behind it.
“The party must go back, exercise due diligence, and present only candidates who actually participated in and won the primaries,” he said.
He further state that there is a growing anger between the APC’s foundational members and new entrants. We are taking past errors for granted simply because the party has 31 governors.
“These governors could become a time bomb for the party if this issue is not addressed.”
