Protest: Tinubu, APC Govs, Edo Deputy Gov, Shaibu, Meet Behind Closed-Doors

President Bola Tinubu met with the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) at the State House in Abuja on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by Philip Shuaibu, Deputy Governor of Edo State, who made his first appearance at the presidential villa after a long battle in his home state.
Chairman of the PGF and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma led the team of governors to the President’s office including Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman, chairman of the Nigeria’s Governors Forum and Governor of Kwara State.
Other Governors in attendance include, Bassey Otu (Cross River), Fr Hycinth Alia (Benue State), Uba Sani (Kaduna State), and Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi).
National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu
as well as Ministers, Wale Edun (Finance) and Abubakar Bagudu (Budget & Economic Planning are in attendance.
The purpose of the meeting was not officially disclosed, but it may be related to the planned nationwide protest scheduled for August 1-14.
The protest, organized under the hashtag ‘EndBadGovernance,’ has gained significant traction on social media.
The meeting may have discussed ways to address the grievances of Nigerians and prevent the planned protest.
President Tinubu recently urged protesters to shelve their plans and await his government’s response to their concerns.
