Edevbie’s Group Accepts S’Court Verdict ‘In Good Faith’, Says Guber Bid Was Inspired By Noble Ideals

The Delta Unity Group, which supported Olorogun David Edevbie for governor of Nigeria in the PDP, claims to have accepted the Supreme Court’s decision from Friday upholding Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as the party’s candidate.

In a statement signed by Mr. Sunny Areh and made available to www.bigpenngr.com, the group claimed that Edevbie’s attempt to represent the state’s citizens on behalf of the PDP had come to an end due to the Supreme Court’s status as the nation’s final judicial authority.

“Although we are disappointed with the judgement, having firmly believed that the grounds of appeal are plausible, as Democrats, we  wholeheartedly accept the verdict.

“The exercise was a noble one, inspired by the belief that Edevbie’s vision holds a much more viable option in making Delta great.”

“We hold the judiciary in very high esteem and the Supreme Court has acquitted itself honourably and we take the verdict in good faith.” We congratulate Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and wish him well.

The statement thanked the numerous supporters of Olorogun Edevbie who earnestly wished the judgement had gone in his favour for their unwavering commitment to his vision of building a modern Delta State.

“We urge our teeming supporters to remain in high spirits and calm as our leaders evaluate and guide us forward,” the statement reads.
