Cut-to-size Guns Recovered As Police Arrests Expectant Mother Who Stabbed Her Hubby To Death In Delta

The Police command in Delta State, on Thursday, says it has arrested a petty trader who stabbed her husband to death with a knife.

BIGPENNGR reports that the police command, also in a separate incident, recovered cut-to-size guns and a tricycle from fleeing armed robbers in Warri, the business hub of the state.

State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Edafe Bright, who disclosed this in a statement said that the suspect who reportedly killed her husband was a pregnant woman.

DSP Bright said; “On 5/4/2021 at about 1313hrs, one Chief Hon. Macpherson Igbedi ‘m’ of No. 4 Akanaweh Street Off Ekredjebor road Ughelli reported that on the 4/4/2021 at about 2345hrs, at Ohoro town one Blessing Emmanuel ‘f’ age 30 yrs stabbed her husband one Jonathan Otomi Umamode aged 43yrs with knife to death.

“The divisional police officer immediately mobilized detectives to the scene, corpse was removed and deposited at Central Hospital for autopsy.

“The suspect who was later arrested is a mother of seven and pregnant with her 8th child confessed to the crime and said she angrily stabbed her husband who she claimed does not take care of her and the children.

“That she has been taking care of herself and her kids, she sells fried chicken.

“On that faithful day, according to the suspect, her husband came and demanded she go home with him which she refused.

“She said the deceased gathered her fried chickens, poured kerosene and set them ablaze.

“She angrily use the knife in her hand to stab the husband in his heart and ran away. Case is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, “The Commissioner of Police Delta state CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, PSC+ has continue to reiterate that Pin down point, and intensive stop and search are one of the proactive ways to prevent crime in the state.

“On the 7/4/2021 at about 2250hrs, Police patrol team while on patrol along Giwamu Street Warri. sighted a tricycle with three occupants and immediately they sighted the police, they abandon the tricycle and started running toward nearby bush.

“They were given a hot chase but because of a crowding nature of the area, it was difficult to arrest them.

“On searching the abandon tricycle with Reg. No GUE 477 VC, two (2) locally cut-to-size single barrel guns.

“Effort is ongoing in view of arresting the fleeing suspects”.
