BREAKING: Court Okays Ifeanyi Ubah’s Sack As Senator

Published

on

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in the Bwari area of Abuja, has reaffirmed the earlier order sacking Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) over certificate forgery.

Ubah was earlier sacked in April 11, 2019, following a petition of certificate forgery against him.

The senator who represented Anambra South district in the upper chamber of the National Assembly had approached the court to seek redress over the earlier sack order.

But in a ruling on Friday on the matter, Justice Bello Kawu, re-affirmed the order it made on April 11, 2019, which directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the Certificate of Return it issued to Ubah and issue a fresh one to Obinna Uzoh of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who came second in the poll.

The court declined to set aside its judgement on the nullification of the election of Ubah for allegedly using a forged National Examination Council (NECO) certificate to contest the senatorial election that held in the state on February 23, 2019.
