2027 Talks Begin- Makinde, Fayemi, Oyinlola Storm Obasanjo’s Home For Crucial Meeting

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Sunday paid a strategic visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence inside the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
He was joined by former Osun State governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi.
Makinde revealed the visit in a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, sharing photos from the meeting.
According to the governor, the meeting focused on key national issues ahead of the 2027 general election.
“Earlier today, we visited Baba, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, in Abeokuta. Our discussions centred on important national issues in view of the upcoming general election,” Makinde wrote.
He added, “We appreciate Baba for his wise counsel at this crucial time in our nation’s history.”
The visit comes amid growing political consultations and realignments across party lines as leaders begin positioning ahead of the 2027 polls.
With Obasanjo’s history of influencing national political direction, the gathering of Makinde, Fayemi, and Oyinlola has sparked fresh talks about what could be brewing for Nigeria’s next election cycle.
