‎Plateau Police Arrest 25 Suspects in  Anti-Drug Crackdown, Recover Illicit Substances

‎The Plateau State Police Command has intensified its fight against drug-related crimes with the arrest of 25 suspects during a coordinated raid on identified drug hotspots in Jos

‎The operation, conducted at about 7:55 p.m. on Saturday, was led by the Officer in Charge of the Violence Crime Response Unit in collaboration with personnel from the Anglo-Jos Division, Anti-Cybercrime and Narcotics Unit, Monitoring Unit, and the Eagle Eye Patrol Team.

‎According to a statement releaseed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, said the security operatives stormed suspected drug dens located at Old Airport Junction and Fwavei Junction, areas reportedly known for the sale and distribution of illicit substances.

‎During the raid, 25 suspects were apprehended, while various quantities of cannabis, controlled drugs, and other banned substances were recovered as exhibits.

‎SP Alabo disclosed that investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement in drug trafficking and other criminal activities.

‎Commending the officers for their professionalism and coordinated efforts, the Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, Bassey Ewah, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks across the state.

‎Ewah also appealed to residents to support law enforcement agencies by providing timely and credible information that could aid crime-fighting efforts.


‎He warned that individuals involved in drug trafficking and other unlawful activities would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

‎The Commissioner reiterated the Command’s resolve to protect lives and property, stressing that the police would continue to take decisive action against criminal elements to ensure a safer and drug-free Plateau State.
