Okowa Consults Delta North Traditional Rulers, Seeks Royal Blessings for Senatorial Bid

Former Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, flanked by a host of traditional rulers, during a consultation visit to the palace of the Obi of Owa, His Royal Majesty Emmanuel Efeizomor II.

In a bid to consolidate his stakeholders’ engagement, former Governor of Delta State and All Progressives Congress (APC) frontline senatorial candidate for Delta North, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on Friday held a high-profile consultation meeting with traditional rulers in the district.

The meeting, which took place at the palace of the Obi of Owa, His Royal Majesty, Emmanuel Efeizomor II, brought together revered royal fathers from across Delta North to deliberate on the future of the senatorial zone.

According to a statement shared by the senatorial hopeful, the interface was part of an ongoing wide-ranging consultation strategy aimed at engaging key stakeholders across the district ahead of the upcoming elections.

Senator Okowa disclosed that the discussions centered primarily on sustaining peace, strengthening unity, and driving socioeconomic development across the various communities that make up Delta North.

He emphasized that progress can only be achieved through a collective responsibility geared toward advancing the welfare of the people.

“Our discussions focused on the continued peace, unity, and development of Delta North, as well as the collective responsibility we share in advancing the interests and wellbeing of our people”.

“I deeply value the wisdom, counsel, and leadership of our traditional rulers, whose role in preserving our culture, promoting harmony, and fostering development remains invaluable,” Okowa stated.

The APC candidate further expressed appreciation to the monarchs for the warm reception accorded to him and his entourage, describing the deliberations as highly insightful.

He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to collaborating with traditional authorities and other key stakeholders to deliver a stronger, more united, and prosperous Delta North.

“I am grateful to Their Royal Majesties for the warm reception and insightful engagement, and I remain committed to working with all stakeholders in pursuit of a stronger, more united, and more prosperous Delta North”.

The visit to the Owa palace is widely seen by political observers as a critical endorsement-seeking step, given the influential role of traditional rulers in shaping community consensus and political direction within the region.
