Mohammed Kabir Usman, chairman of the delegation from the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has commended the Dleta State Government and Isoko South Council for making good efforts in infrastructural development.

Usman gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri on Tuesday at his office in Oleh, the headquarters of Isoko South.

The Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission is conducting a comprehensive nationwide data verification exercise within the Isoko South Local Government Council, with the primary objective of ensuring accurate data for revenue allocation amongst states and local government areas.

Mohammed Kabir Usman and the Federal Commissioner representing Delta State in the Commission, Aruviere Martins Egharhevwa, who led the delegation to Isoko South, affirmed that the governments of Delta State and Isoko South were making efforts in infrastructural development.

Usman described the exercise as a crucial national endeavor that would strengthen the indices used for revenue allocation across the federation.

He stated that it is consistent with the commission’s constitutional responsibility as outlined in Paragraph 32(b) of Part I of the Third Schedule to the 1999 Constitution, which authorizes it to continually assess the revenue allocation formula.

According to him, changing socio-economic realities—including population shifts, infrastructure expansion, and evolving development needs make it essential to periodically verify and update the data underpinning revenue allocation.

“It has become necessary to validate the integrity and accuracy of the data that inform revenue distribution across the federation,” he said.

The team commended the Isoko South chairman for the warm reception and applauded the state’s coordination efforts.

In his remarks, the Isoko South council chairman, Warri reaffirmed the local government’s steadfast dedication to backing the commission and its esteemed visitors.

Warri stated that the government was prepared to furnish all requisite data and conduct site visits to ensure the exercise succeed, stating that various administrative departments, agencies, and units were well-represented in attendance to grasp the exercise’s requirements and offer unrelenting support.

The council chairman stressed that data was central to development planning and governance.
