The Ogun State Police Command has arrested seven suspects linked to armed robbery, house breaking, stealing, conspiracy, and other criminal activities during coordinated operations across Sango-Ota, Owode-Egba, and Agbado.

‎In a statement via the official X  handle, the Command disclosed that the arrests were made through intelligence-led operations supported by timely information from members of the public, underscoring its commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state.

‎According to the police, operatives attached to the Sango-Ota Division arrested three suspects identified as Pelumi Akintande, 21, Mojeed Sanusi, 28, and Mubarak Lateef, 17, in connection with an armed robbery incident in Alasia Community. The suspects allegedly participated in an attack on a resident during which valuables were forcibly stolen.

‎A locally fabricated cut-to-size pistol and an expended cartridge believed to have been used during the robbery were recovered from the suspects. Police authorities said efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang who remain at large.

‎In a separate operation, officers of the Owode-Egba Division arrested 22-year-old Damilare Makanjuola over alleged house breaking and theft in Ofada. Investigators said the suspect was apprehended after reportedly scaling a fence in an attempt to gain unlawful access to a shop.

‎Further investigations allegedly linked him to several burglary incidents within Sun City Estate, Ofada, where electrical appliances, cash exceeding ₦100,000, and other valuables were reported stolen. Recovered exhibits have been secured while investigations continue.

‎The same division also arrested Tijani Jubril, 28, and Ezra Modi, 22, for alleged conspiracy and stealing within Treasure Island Estate, Awo Village. The suspects were intercepted while allegedly attempting to dispose of stolen electrical appliances concealed in a sack.

‎Police said preliminary findings indicate that the items were removed from a residential property after forced entry into the premises. The stolen property was recovered intact.

‎Meanwhile, operatives of the Agbado Division arrested 22-year-old Waris Adebesin for allegedly causing public disturbance and threatening violence around a secondary school environment.

‎The suspect was reportedly found armed with a knife while creating tension and disrupting movement in the area. The police said swift intervention by officers prevented a possible escalation, restored calm, and ensured the safety of students, staff, and residents. The knife was recovered at the scene.

‎All seven suspects are currently in police custody and undergoing further investigation. Authorities said efforts are being intensified to apprehend other individuals connected to the various crimes.

‎Commending the officers involved, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Bode Ojajuni, praised their professionalism, discipline, and swift response during the operations. He also acknowledged the crucial role played by residents whose vigilance and timely information contributed to the successful arrests.

‎The police assured residents that the achievements form part of a broader statewide security strategy aimed at dismantling criminal networks and ensuring lasting peace across Ogun State. The Command also expressed sympathy to victims of the crimes and pledged that justice would be pursued diligently.

‎Residents are further urged to remain vigilant and continue supporting law enforcement agencies by promptly reporting suspicious activities and security concerns.
