500 Youths, Women Benefit from Sen. Ned Nwoko’s Empowerment Schemes in Delta North

No fewer than 500 youths and women in Delta North Senatorial District have been empowered by Senator Ned Nwoko with far-reaching development initiative aimed at promoting self-employment, wealth creation, healthcare access, and sustainable community growth across Delta North.

The empowerment programme, which commenced at the weekend in Asaba, attracted beneficiaries drawn from communities across the nine local government areas of the senatorial district. Participants were equipped with modern business and entrepreneurial skills designed to position them for gainful self-reliance and long-term economic productivity.

Each beneficiary, under the programme facilitated by Senator Nwoko, received a grant of One Hundred Thousand Naira (₦100,000) upon the completion of a rigorous three-day capacity-building training. The training was coordinated by the Centre for Management Development in collaboration with ABEAM Global Resources Limited.

Speaking at the empowerment ceremony, Senator Nwoko stated that the initiative was designed to unlock the immense potential of youths and women as drivers of job creation and catalysts for local economic expansion, stressing that sustainable development begins with deliberate investment in people.

Represented at the event by his Political Adviser, Chief Emmanuel Afam Eboh, the Senator expressed deep concern for the welfare and wellbeing of the people of Delta North, assuring that more empowerment programmes would be rolled out in the 2026 legislative year.

He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to human capital and community development through continuous engagement with the Federal Government under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the Delta State Government led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Describing youths as “agents of innovation and creativity,” Senator Nwoko pledged to continue investing in education, skills acquisition, and entrepreneurship to enhance productivity and economic competitiveness among the younger generation.

He urged the beneficiaries to remain focused and purposeful, noting that “enterprise, youth energy, and resilience are critical forces that can stimulate economic growth, strengthen communities, and build a sustainable future.”

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, several participants described Senator Nwoko as a great pillar of the social, political, economic and cultural development of Anioma land, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and support.

Those who spoke included Ifeanyi Kelou and Ubaka Samuel from Aniocha North; Angela Onyia Ibekwe Oshimili South; Lauretta Ehikwe,Ika South; Oseji Ejiro,Ndokwa East; Jamilaye Samuel and Authentic Ojuwa ,Ukwuani as well as Enudi Marcus, President-General,Anioma Youth Council.

Meanwhile, Senator Nwoko has also announced a Medical Outreach Programme for selected Delta North communities. Scheduled for February 1 and 2, 2026.

The outreach will hold at the Primary Healthcare Centre, Agbor, in Ika South Local Government Area and the Primary Healthcare Centre, Ibusa, in Oshimili North Local Government Area, where free medical consultations, drugs and treatment will be provided for residents.
