Isoko South Chairman Celebrates his One Year in Office With Thanksgiving

Friday Ovoke Warri, chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Tuesday said, his emergence as a council chairman was a divine intervention and the support of the good people of the local government.

Speaking during a thanksgiving service to mark his one year in office anniversary held at the Ekpre Otobo hall, Oleh, Warri reiterated his pledge to continue to unit the people, alleviate poverty, and advancing the Warri for your worries slogan of his electioneering campaign.

The council chairman in company of his wife, Mrs. Abigail Warri, expressed gratitude for God’s guidance even as he promised more dividends of democracy in the local government.

The event which hosted who is who in Isoko South politics, was attended by former council chairmen, traditional rulers, clerics, law makers and Delta State top government functionaries witnessed praises and prayers to the number one citizen of Isoko South and his family.

The council chairman however acknowledged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s support and reaffirmed his commitment to the Renewed Hope for More Agenda efforts to maintain peace and security in Isoko South.

“In the forthcoming years, we will undertake initiatives that will enhance our lives, ensuring that our youths are redeemed from vices and are put on the right track to achieve their destinies. We are working to ensure that our women will be greatly empowered so that they can become the mothers that we desire in our local government.”, Warri stated.

In his sermon, former resident pastor of the Living Faith Church, (AKA) Winners Chapel, Asaba, Pastor David Popoola and now the resident pastor of the Living Faith Church, (AKA) Winners Chapel, Rivers State, urged the council chairman to remain steadfast and seek divine guidance in his actions and programs.

Taking his text from the book of James 1:17, the cleric emphasized that thanksgiving should be an integral part of every christian’s lifestyle and urged the chairman to disregard distractions and focus on the commendable work he has initiated, adding that “Everything good comes from the Lord; if what is good is your desire, acknowledge the glory to God.

“It is prudent to recognize Him as the source of our accomplishments. There is a God, and this God is benevolent. Until you express gratitude for the previous, you are not eligible for the next.”, the cleric said.

The service which prayers, music, and special blessings for peace, unity, and prosperity in the Isoko South local government area, had in attendance, Chief of Staff, Government House Asaba, Johnson Erijo, member representing Isoko South constituency 1, (DTHA), Bino Owhede, Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Emamusi Obiodeh, Vice Chairman, Isoko South, Theresa Ikrike Oghale, former chairman of the Isoko South, Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo, leader of the legislative arm of Isoko South, Bright Olokor, board members, Mike Edegware, Austin Igbine, Isoko South All Progressive Congress (APC) chairman, Egbogbo Vincent, Bishop of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Oleh, John Usiwoma Aruakpor, traditional rulers, clargy men, serving councillors, supervising councillors, and council staff, among others.
