President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration, has released N60 Billion naira to Gombe for the agro-livestock industrial zone project, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, has disclosed.

The governor confirmed that the Tinubu’s Administration has provided N60 billion to establish an 184-hectare Agro-Livestock Industrial Zone in the state.

Yahaya disclosed this in Gombe on Saturday during a ground-breaking ceremony to establish the zone.

He said that President Bola Tinubu’s administration had pledged N120 billion in support of the zone’s establishment and released part of the money.

He stated that the initiative aimed to build a prosperous and sustainable future for livestock development in the state.

He said the zone would house an ultramodern abattoir, an international livestock market, fattening hubs, a tannery and leather factory, a world-class grains and livestock feeds market, and an inland dry port.

“Each facility is designed with cutting-edge infrastructure to enable safe, efficient, and large-scale processing and commerce.

“The Gombe Ultramodern Abattoir is set to transform meat processing in Gombe State and the entire Northern region of Nigeria.

“ This automated facility will enable hygienic, efficient, and globally compliant processing, packaging, and distribution, serving domestic and international markets.

“By eliminating the outdated practice of transporting live animals under unsafe and costly conditions, we pave the way for a smarter, safer livestock economy,” he said.

The governor said the project would provide job opportunities, enhance productivity, encourage import substitution and increase foreign earnings along all segments of the livestock value chain.

He commended the governor for his initiative to revamp the livestock sector, adding that when completed, the facility would process 500 bulls, 1,000 small ruminants, and 3,000 poultry birds daily.

At the same event, Gov. Inuwa Yahaya declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

He praised Tinubu’s administration for introducing initiatives that have brought positive change and development across the country.

The governor highlighted the livestock sector as one that has seen significant improvement since Tinubu assumed office in 2023.

Yahaya said Tinubu’s investments in the livestock value chain are aimed at economic growth, job creation, and improving citizens’ welfare.

“I assure the President that for what he has done, is doing, and will do, Gombe people will follow him to the battlefield blindfolded.

“We will work for his success in 2027. By God’s grace, his re-election is assured,” Yahaya said.

The governor noted Tinubu’s support for the livestock sector, a predominantly Northern business long overlooked, reflects his care for the people.

“If not for a President who loves his people and has the capacity and will, this transformation would not have happened.

“No Northern leader in 47 years of power considered investing ₦120 billion to transform the livestock sector, despite it being a predominantly Northern industry,” he said.

Yahaya commended Tinubu’s commitment to fully developing the agricultural sector in Gombe and across the country.

He assured Nigerians that despite temporary hardships from ongoing reforms, better days lie ahead under Tinubu’s leadership.
