APC Removes Sen. Ali Ndume As Senate Chief Whip After Criticizing President Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has removed Sen. Ali Ndume as the Senate Chief Whip, replacing him with Sen. Mohammed Monguno.
BIGPEN NIGERIA (https://bigpenngr.com) reports that this decision comes after Ndume publicly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that he was being held hostage by a cabal in the Aso Presidential Villa and was unaware of the country’s economic hardship.
In a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary, APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje stated that Ndume’s comments were “unbecoming utterances” that warranted his removal as Chief Whip.
The Senate unanimously resolved to replace Ndume with Monguno in a voice vote.
Ndume, representing Borno North, criticism of President Tinubu had sparked controversy, fueling suspicious that his removal as Chief Whip is seen as a consequence of his actions.
