38 Years Old Omobayo Emerges Edo State Deputy Gov’nor Minutes After Shaibu’s Impeachment

Edo State Governor Governor Obaseki, has swore-in 38 years old Omobayo Marvellous Godwin as his new Deputy barely minutes after the original occupant of the position, Comrade Philip Shaibu, was impeached by the State House of Assembly.

Omobayo was until his appointment a chieftain of the opposition Labour Party (LP).

The embattled Shaibu was sacked by the lawmakers during Monday’s plenary session.

The impeachment followed an investigation led by Justice S.A Omonua and a seven-man panel into the impeachment petition against Governor Obaseki’s deputy.
